Oh AI, You Silly Goose

I just hung up the phone with a client who affectionally refers to her instance of ChatGPT as a friend. “She told me I should do this with video. She is so smart!”

And then there was the other night when I was on an evening walk with a friend when we saw one of those cute little grocery delivery robots in our neighborhood. My friend and I squealed at how cute it was just humming along delivering groceries. The little robot might as well have been wearing a baseball cap and whistling while it was smoothly sailing by to make a grocery delivery.

It’s funny to see us humanize what we know to be machines. And how can we not when ChatGPT can sometimes offer more compassion than our own friends.
